Where is your data stored?

In short: the files you upload and the content produced from them are stored in Microsoft Azure inside the EU. AI processing runs in Azure OpenAI within the EU Data Zone. The calculations in the analysis themselves run locally in your browser, not on an analysis server.

The website, accounts, sign-in and credits are handled by Supabase.

Uploaded files (Excel and CSV) are stored in Azure Blob Storage in the Sweden Central region in Sweden.

Interview transcripts, analysis results, quality reports and presentation content are stored in Azure Database for PostgreSQL in the North Europe region in Ireland.

Content is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is checked on the server per account and per analysis, so you only see your own content. Uploaded files are never overwritten.

ProfitLens does not record or store any audio. If a respondent chooses voice in an interview, the speech is processed in real time and only the written transcript is saved.

Your raw data is never altered. Uploaded files are kept unchanged and a completed, paid analysis is not modified afterwards.

The deterministic calculations in the analysis run in a Web Worker in your own browser. They are not calculated by an AI model or by an analysis server in Azure.

The file is nevertheless uploaded and stored in Azure, so that you can resume the analysis and so that the AI features can use the content. The servers of the website and the application may therefore handle client content in transit for authorised access; the content being in Azure does not mean those servers never touch it.

Text generation, interviews, the help guide, speech recognition and the optional voice handling use Azure OpenAI with models in the EU Data Zone. Input and answers are therefore processed within EU member states, not through global distribution.

What may be sent to Azure OpenAI is column and sheet names, limited example values, finished findings for presentation text, interview answers and relevant conversation context. The whole file is never sent for AI inference, and identifying example values are pseudonymised before AI processing.

Microsoft does not use your input or answers to train base models. Microsoft's applicable service terms govern safety and abuse monitoring, which may include permitted retention at the provider; we do not promise zero retention at Microsoft.

Voice is offered by default in the languages supported and can be switched off for a project or a shared interview link. The respondent decides whether to use voice and grants microphone access; otherwise the interview is answered in text.

In either case only the written transcript is saved. No audio file is kept by ProfitLens.

Supabase provides the website and the application platform and keeps accounts, sign-in, access metadata and credits.

These functions sit outside Azure and do not cover the storage of your client content.

Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited provides Azure storage, database and AI processing. Supabase provides the website, the application platform and account functions. E-mail providers send system messages.

A list of sub-processors can be requested and is updated when a provider is added or removed.

Client content is kept with its analysis for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of uploaded files, raw transcripts or quotations.

Deleting a transcript does not affect the aggregated synthesis that has already been produced from the interviews; it is reported and handled separately.
